Sony Forms New Company to Bring PlayStation Games to Mobile

Sony has announced that it is changing its official name, from Sony Computer Entertainment to Sony Interactive Entertainment. While the mammoth tech company will still just be “Sony” to us, its next move is definitely more interesting. Sony will be forming a new company called ForwardWorks that will focus on smartphone games. In a statement, Sony says that it will produce “full-fledged game titles” using both PlayStation Characters and IP. The statement continued to say that the company will focus on users in Japan and Asia, but no titles or concrete plans have been announced.

This move shadows a recent reshuffling by Nintendo, which also recently announced that it would be moving into the smartphone game market. About time?
