J.J. Abrams Confirms Star Wars Will Feature Gay Characters

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Director J.J. Abrams has confirmed that the diversification of the Star Wars universe is set to continue with the introduction of gay characters. “When I talk about inclusivity it’s not excluding gay characters. It’s about inclusivity. So of course,” explained Abrams to The Daily Beast his desire to include gay characters in the box office smash franchise. “To me, the fun of Star Wars is the glory of possibility,” he continued. “So it seems insanely narrow-minded and counterintuitive to say that there wouldn’t be a homosexual character in that world.” Check out the production teaser trailer for the latest installment of the series here.
