For every insane Japan Grab that gets compiled into one of GoPro’s adrenaline-pumping ski and snowboard videos is a skilled cameraman that must follow the talent from an arm’s length, often doing the same jumps while focusing entirely on pointing the camera in the right direction. While they often don’t get enough credit for the next-level multitasking required of them, CBS News took to the mountains to find out what exactly goes into making a first-grade GoPro cameraman. Requiring a cool head and a steady hand, cameramen face no shortage of pressure, as each reshoot entails the whole crew having to return to the top of the slope, whether it be by ski lift or helicopter, before they can attempt to capture the moment again.
