A Vintage 1957 Ferrari 335S Sells for $34.9M USD
Yet, still misses the record for the highest priced Ferrari ever sold.
A vintage 1957 Ferrari 335S Spider Scaglietti, noted to have raced the Mille Miglia and driven by two Formula 1 world champions, was sold in Paris at a Artcurial auction for a staggering $34.9 million USD. Chassis number 0674 holds several accolades including having recorded the fastest lap at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1957, racing the 1957 Sebring 12 Hours and winning the 1958 Cuban Grand Prix. Additionally, the automobile was owned by founder of North American Racing Team Luigi Chinetti before being a part of the Bardinon Collection of renowned Ferraris. As impressive as the price, the auction actually fell short of beating a $38.1 million USD record of the highest Ferrari sold to date by a 1962 250 GTO, which occurred during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2014.
