Michael Phelps Poses With All 23 Gold Medals on Latest 'Sports Illustrated' Cover

Olympic champion Michael Phelps no doubt had a terrific year and now the 23 Olympic Gold Medalist graces the cover of Sports Illustrated for an unprecedented 12th time sporting every single one of them. As the cover story in SI‘s latest issue, Phelps once again states the 2016 Rio Games were his final Olympics, although he left a sliver of hope he’d be back for Tokyo in 2020. The swimmer once retired after the 2012 London Olympics but decided to compete once again at Rio. Opening up about his retirement, Phelps stated, “If I do get the desire to come back, great.
