'Find My iPhone' Is a Film About Tracking a Stolen Phone

When you lose your mobile device not only do you lose an expensive piece of hardware, a stranger has access to all of your photos, videos, e-mails, messages and contacts. Intrigued by what thieves do after snatching a smartphone, Dutch filmmaker Anthony van der Meer downloaded spyware software on his phone and intentionally left it to be stolen. Once the phone was out of his hands, he recorded his tracking of the culprit for weeks on end. The process became the 22-minute documentary, Find My iPhone which followed a phone’s ‘second life’ after being stolen. Watch the short documentary above and let us know what you think.
