Aesop's New Store Pays Homage to Leipzig's Design Heritage
The company has teamed up with Munich-based studio einszu33.
Aesop has opened its latest store, following on from its Seoul branch in November, this time launching in Germany’s Leipzig. The company is known for using local architects and this time is no different, teaming up with Munich studio einszu33 to create an aesthetic that recalls the city’s deep music, arts and design heritage. The 95-square-metre space also emulates the home with dim-lighting, leather sofas, powder-coated metal, translucent glass tiles and oiled plywood countertops that evoke the now-defunct Deutsche Demokratische Republik.
