The final furniture collection that architect Zaha Hadid designed before passing away earlier this year is set to go on display at London’s David Gill Gallery. A part of the space’s forthcoming exhibition titled “UltraStellar,” eight bespoke items from both previous collections and never-before-seen works will be showcased. The crystal-and-metal comprised Lisse chandelier will be revealed for the first time since Hadid previewed a prototype back in 2014.
Three of the items were created for the “Liquid Glacial” collection, which were shown at the gallery four years ago, encompassing hand-polished acrylic consoles and sterling silver rippled bowls. In a number of the newer pieces, Hadid forwent her familiar milled-acrylic style and chose to go with softer mediums including walnut and leather, while still highlighting her signature curves. See “UltraStellar” at the David Gill Gallery from Oct. 3-29.
