The Rock Is Developing a TV Series Similar to 'The Fast and the Furious'
Described as ‘The Fast and the Furious’ meets ‘Rescue Me.’

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is expanding his TV empire. Announced over his Twitter account, the actor is producing a “car-focused cop show” for Fox entitled Boost Unit. A joint effort between Johnson and Dany Garcia’s production company Seven Bucks Productions and 20th Century Fox, the show will be based on a real L.A.P.D. unit that focuses on car crimes. According to its official description, Boost Unit “follows the newest recruit of the L.A.P.D.’s Auto Theft Task Force, a notorious getaway driver with a hidden past. The project captures Johnson’s trademark edge and humor as well as the turbo-charged speed of The Fast and the Furious franchise.”
According to Johnson, “We’re bringing to life the high-stakes street pursuits and grueling work of this very specialized elite task force and we’re excited to partner with Imperative Entertainment to combine an epic mix of gripping action and sophisticated storytelling.” Would you tune in?
