With Milan Fashion Week fully wrapped up, Monocle has taken it upon itself to do a video recap of the business and fashion trends within the city’s showrooms and workshops. From Caruso’s quest to blur the boundary between costumes and fashion, to Scandinavia’s role in inspiring Massimo Piombo’s latest, and Massimo Alba’s crowd-pleasing relaxed approach to tailoring, Italy is still at the top of its menswear game. While challenges such as the increasing prevalence of casual sportswear, as well as the necessity to adapt to climate change, however, Italian and European fashion labels cannot rest of their laurels just yet.
