Alexander Lewis & Y2K Flip Hudson Mohawke's Hit, "Chimes"
Believe it or not, it’s even more hard-hitting than the original.
Hudson Mohawke dropped “Chimes” in September of 2014, and it has become the Scottish producer’s biggest original track yet. Not only has the song been a club favorite, it was featured on a MacBook Air TV ad and an official remix of the record, featuring Pusha T, Future, Travi$ Scott and French Montana, was released as a single. Now, production aficionadoAlexander Lewis and Y2K team up together for a brand new flip of the classic. It starts out with some jazzy, reverberating piano chords and builds into a string-laden version of the original track’s intro. The drop is quite similar to the original but the instruments, drums and arrangement are slightly updated and it’s even more hard-hitting and progressive than the original. Listen to the flip below.
