JR's Tallest Work to Date on Boston's John Hancock Tower
More from the “urban artivist.”
The self-described “urban artivist” creates his tallest work to date on Boston’s highest structure, the John Hancock Tower. Spanning from the 44th to the 50th floors, the piece measures an impressive 150 feet tall by 86 feet wide. Famous for his critically acclaimed Inside Out Project, the enigmatic French artist has garnered attention yet again for his latest public work that seems to have mysteriously appeared overnight. Depicting an anonymous figure balancing precariously on a tilted platform, JR departs from his signature portraits in favor of a more surreal scene. With local impact and community involvement crucial to his works, JR’s latest site-specific installation has already made its mark on Boston. The piece can be seen through mid November at 200 Clarendon Street.
