The 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera Finally Gets Turbocharged
A whole 20 horsepower faster than last year.

Porsche updates the 911 Carrera for 2016 with a long-requested feature — a turbocharged engine, all for under $90,000 USD. Capable of 370 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, the new flat-six engine makes this year’s model 20 hp faster than last year’s, while the Carrera S sees an upgrade to 420 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque from tweaking the tuning parameters. The 2016 Carrera is thus the fastest ever, with a 0-60 time of four seconds and a top speed of 183 mph. Meanwhile, the Carrera S doesn’t disappoint with a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 191 mph. Porsche also claims that its new turbocharged offerings have 12% more fuel economy than their non-turbocharged counterparts. Expect the 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera to release in the U.S. for $89,400 USD for the base model, with the 2016 Carrera S going for $103,400 USD.
