In this episode, Nas opens up about his early determination to succeed with his art, the impact that early hip-hop had on him, and that the secret to his success is to always be honest with himself. “If you’re given an opportunity and you’re lucky enough to have freedom to do what you want to do in your career, why trap yourself? Why do something that’s not you?” he asks. Nas’ documentary is the second of four episodes created to support Sprite’s ‘Obey Your Verse Lyrical Collection’ which will also feature episodes with Isaiah Rashad and Vince Staples, filmed in each of their hometowns, in the weeks ahead.
