Ta-ku x Repeat Pattern: NO.SLEEP NIHON
Two notable beatmakers team up for a visual account of the Japanese capital in this photo book.
As part of its ongoing Artist Series, Australian lifestyle boutique CAPSULE has brought together Perth artist Ta-ku and Tokyo-based producer Repeat Pattern for a unique photo series titled NO.SLEEP. The project involves the two creatives shooting different cities over a 24-hour period — hence the name of the series — and then publishing their collective visual output in a text-free book, thus becoming “an exploration of the physical spaces and individuals in these communities which they have never previously visited in person.” The first in the NO.SLEEP series is Tokyo, which was shot by Ta-ku and Repeat Pattern in November 2014, and will be published and sold by CAPSULE under the title NO.SLEEP NIHON. The book is available for pre-order now, with a book signing and gallery event at the CAPSULE store accompanying the release date on August 19.
