The two heavyweights rekindle their longstanding partnership.
Junya Watanabe and Levi’s rekindle their longstanding partnership for a selection of lighter outerwear pieces for the 2015 fall/winter season. The Japanese designer puts his spin on some of the American denim manufacturer’s iconic jackets, which includes the tweed jacket, tweed coat and Polyester stripe jacket. Constructed in Japan, the black tweed jacket features corduroy trimmings and speckled elbow patches, while a satin lining ensures a snugger fit, along with increased comfort. A more rugged piece in the form of the tweed coat, sees the iconic trucker jacket revisited with a dense wool blend and an elongated hem, in addition to various pockets along the chest and waist. The final piece is a more striking alternative, which uses the Levi’s Type 1 jacket as a base, and features a herringbone woven wool pinstripe construction. Contrasting corduroy collar and cuffs, and canvas elbow patches finish off the collaborative design.
