Drake‘s second Meek Mill diss track “Back to Back” shook the Internet yesterday, and while most have commended the tracks for having clever bars and subliminals, not everybody caught who exactly the MLB player on the cover was and why Drake chose to use it. The photo depicts Joe Carter — a “World Series Hero” who has spent 15 years in the league — celebrating a home run. This was during Game 6 of the 1993 World Series, where he helped the Toronto Blue Jays win a title by hitting a three-run home run off Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams. Carter expressed his appreciation to Drake for using the photo, taking to Twitter to thank him and exclaiming that he has “officially made it now!!!”
I have officially made it now!!! Thanks to my man @drake. I'm honored bro. #BackToBack. pic.twitter.com/TH8VLuPAMQ
