Since the franchise’s move away from the retro top-down view in Grand Theft Auto III, the GTA series has defined the third-person shooter genre, spawning many imitations in the process. This aesthetic reached new heights of realism with the next-generation graphics of Grand Theft Auto V, but for LA-based filmmakers Corridor Digital, this wasn’t quite enough. So they took to the streets of the City of Angels, which masqueraded as Los Santos, and followed the exploits of a tattooed thug in over-the-shoulder style as he rampaged across the metropolis wreaking havoc.
