The Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge Is in One of the Seven Wonders of Africa

Located in Botswana, the Okavango Delta is one of the seven wonders of Africa. The Sandibe Okavango Lodge has been planted in the heart of the delta for just over 17 years, and has recently been overhauled by Johannesburg-based firm Nicholas Plewman Architects. The revamp was inspired by the pangolin – a native descendent of the armadillo – whose protective scales shield it from predators. The 24-bed luxury lodge itself makes use of laminated pinewood and Canadian cedar; the architects were careful to use biodegradable materials to underline the importance of environmental awareness.
