The Ford GT for 2016 Le Mans Is Unveiled
Long rumored, Ford has finally lifted the curtains on its entry into next year’s Le Mans event with the Ford GT.

Long rumored, Ford has finally lifted the curtains on its entry into next year’s Le Mans event with the Ford GT, which would also mark the 50th anniversary of Ford’s legendary 1966 victory at Le Mans. The souped-up race version will bear similarities to its road-ready cousin in the mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The race version will compete in the LM GTE-Pro category instead of the LMP1 category, currently dominated by Audi. Apart from the Le Mans race, the GT will also run both the FIA WEC and TUSCC schedules in 2016. In the meantime, take a look at the announcement video below of the 2016 Le Mans Ford GT as released by Ford.
