Earlier this year, the company behind Periscope was purchased by Twitter for a reported $100 million USD. If that wasn’t enough to signal the bright future of the video streaming app, the company continues to improve functionality for users. The latest update of Periscope contains a new global map feature that show where live broadcasts are happening. While the full scope and capability of this new feature remains to be seen, for now Periscope users can zoom in from an aerial view to pinpoint exactly where live streams are currently happening. For now, the feature is only available to iOS users, but Android users can look forward to their own update in the coming months.
