The ongoing saga between American Apparel and its founder and Ex-CEO Dov Charney has taken another twist. According to Reuters, the Delaware Court of Chancery has granted American Apparel a temporary restraining order against the Montreal-born businessman that prohibits him to breach any of the standstill terms that were agreed upon last year, including making negative statements in the press regarding the company’s board members or its employees, as he had done publicly in the past months. This is the latest development in the highly-publicized spat which first began in June of last year when Charney was fired after allegedly misusing company funds among other accusations. He then fired back this past March by claiming a breach of contract and was seeking $40 million USD in damages. This dispute is unlikely to get settled any time soon so stay tuned for more information.
