AMC has released a mock advertisement providing a somewhat chilling look at what the future of households may look like, to promote its new eight-part series HUMANS. In the one-and-a-half minute-long spot, a generic, upper-middle class family purchases a new, incredibly lifelike android — a “Synth” — called Sally, created by a company called Persona Synthetics and who the voiceover describes as “faster, stronger, and more capable.” She is shown interacting with the family members, performing household chores and child rearing. However, Sally’s often murderous gaze and lifeless smile hint that all will not end well for the family, or mankind. Based on the award-winning Swedish sci-fi drama Real Humans, the show is set to premiere on AMC on June 28. Learn more about the series by clicking here.
