Kurt Cobain has a busy 2015 on the horizon, despite passing away in 1994. Brett Morgan, the director of the new Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck, which is set to premier on HBO May 4, has unveiled that there will be a new album set to drop in the coming months. The collection of unreleased recordings from Cobain, Courtney Love, his punk band Fecal Matter, and more were discovered as Morgan was gathering pieces of information for the biopic and it appears that these rare recordings will be edited down and released this summer. Director Brett Morgan stated:
It will feel like you’re kind of hanging out with Kurt Cobain on a hot summer day in Olympia, Washington as he fiddles about. It’s going to really surprise people,” he said, adding that the album will be “just Kurt and you’re going to hear him do things you never expected to come out of him.
