Today, London-based contemporary casual wear label Folk unveiled its 2015 lookbook for the upcoming fall/winter season. Following a more minimal route with clean cut lines and a subdued color palette, the collection has been accented by Folk’s usual inclusion of carefully placed detailing and contrast panelling giving each piece a unique identity and association to the brand’s visual ideals. Outerwear pieces such as the collection’s parkas and collared coats have been fashioned in hard-wearing, military-esque materials that reveal a distinct workwear influence while retaining a tailored approach from their fit through to each silhouettes elegant slip pockets. Interweaved into the collection’s rougher element is a selection of tailored pants, blazers and seasonal layers made from lightweight fabric blends with notch-lapel detailing and the inclusion of pleating on certain products. Despite the obvious combination of varying stylistic influences, the Folk 2015 fall/winter collection forms an aesthetically pleasing cohesive unit.
