Up-and-coming songstress BOSCO has signed to Fool’s Gold Records, and has shared her first single for the label — “Boy,” featuring Two-9‘s Jace. It pairs BOSCO’s sultry vocals with a swiftly-paced, tripped-out verse from Jace. BOSCO tells FADER the song came to fruition after a particularly late work-night at the Brooklyn apartment of Atlanta songwriter Spree Wilson, who has worked with the likes of Afrojack in the past. BOSCO gave the following backstory to FADER:
“I wanted to write a song that I wouldn’t necessarily do, something a little different this time around. Some parts felt familiar, while others [felt] foreign but refreshing. The track already had this mod-90’s vibe to start, so instinctively it felt right to write a song in that style.”
“Boy” will serve as the title track for BOSCO’s forthcoming EP, which will see release on June 2. You can give “Boy” a spin below.
