Twenty-five years have put Jun Takahashi and UNDERCOVER in the elite echelon of streetwear brands, with a strong history of collaborations, expansions and most importantly aesthetics having laid the groundwork for this current crop of designers. Celebrating its legacy of innovative graphic design work, UNDERCOVER recently took to Hong Kong for the “TGRAPHICS” exhibition, a retrospective of rare and archival work from the UNDERCOVER annals. The works on the walls have each been silk-screened for public display, with the exhibition placing a particular focus on T-shirt graphics. Moreover though, the installation serves as a visual survey of Takahashi’s inspirations, which as it turns out, is a lengthy amalgamation of vintage schematics, D.I.Y. show posters, margin sketches, and the work of his peers.
