Other superlatives aside, Drake is one of the most self-aware artists working today, gifted with the ability to internalize every criticism, every denial of talent, every shot fired, and somehow weld it into his artists’ armor. His music has shifted in tone from ‘concern’ to something more blasé, and presently, it’s not hard to envision him lounging in a tufted leather chair in the wee hours, plotting his next move over a glass of vintage port. Such is the attitude of the latest from October’s Very Own, which looks to expand on its repertoire with a new collection of cut & sew goods. The range is comprised of simple sweaters, T-shirts, hats and track pants, yet executed with a velour-like material that screams wealthy irreverence – brattiness, even. A minimal color palette, with tones of cool sky blue and moody grey, help underline this feeling. Somehow though, this unorthodox approach fits in perfectly. Check out the collection in the photo set above and look for it to launch online beginning May 9.
