Philanthropist and billionaire entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson unveils his latest foray into the travel industry — the first imprint in the new line of Virgin Hotels in Chicago — albeit much closer to home than space travel, and more accessible than Necker Island. The Windy City’s Old Dearborn Bank building plays host to the new hotel in an already bustling and competitive hotel market, but Virgin Hotels is trying to differentiate itself. With an Art Deco-inspired design, the hotel offers cheaper rates than other hotels in the same area, while not piling up on extra fees such as Wi-Fi or cancellations. The hotel also brands itself to appeal to all demographics, instead of just a niche (a direction in which the hotel industry has been heading). Check out some photos of its interior above, and expect to see more Virgin Hotels pop up soon. Head over to Virgin Hotel’s website for booking information, with room rates starting at $250 USD per night.
