A Recap of A$AP Rocky's Red Bull Music Academy Lecture Series

Two years without an album, and a lot has happened. As the 1965 Castaways song, Liar, Liar plays A$AP Rocky looks around in disbelief at whether crowd recognizes just how “jiggy” the track, journalist Hattie Collins has played to open the Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour lecture. Don’t stress it though, Rocky will not allow for lack of recognition on the level of jiggy it is and more importantly that he is, in fact, still the jiggiest.
On this Rocky segment of the tour, we immediately get to meet the (equally as pretty) At.Long.Last.A$AP. collaborator and SoHo boy, Joe Fox. They both speak on working together, the album, things they’ve learned from and about each other and give a shameless plug to Joe Fox’s upcoming, debut EP.
Expectedly, Hattie and Rocky discuss fashion, but not like in the Complex interview. Rocky takes some lite shots but basically sends undying praise to Rick Owens and even Pigalle.
As in any interview they discuss and dispel album rumors. No there isn’t a Lykke Li and FKA Twigz track but Yasin Bey (aka Mos Def) will be on the project. Rocky comes off very happy, alive and fun in this ‘lecture’ as he speaks on his favorite way to spend a rare Thursday evening free, some of the wildest fans he’s seen touring and the reasons why his own clothing line is not anywhere near in the works.
A video replay will be arriving shortly, stay tuned. More details on Red Bull’s Music Academy Series can be found here.
