2016 McLaren 540C Coupé Is the Company's Most Affordable Model Yet

McLaren has debuted the newest addition to its Sport Series lineup at the Shanghai Motor Show, the 540C Coupé. Similar to the 570S Coupé, the 540C uses the British automaker’s trusted performance racing expertise with a more modest approach, resulting in a more affordable, but highly dependable McLaren. The new vehicle is equipped with a lightweight carbon fiber chassis and race-derived technologies, including a mid-mounted 3.8-liter turbocharged V8 engine, capable of generating 533 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, translating into a 3.5-second acceleration to 62mph from a standstill.
