Sitting down for an interview with VIBE before an impressive 42-song set at SXSW, T-Pain shared the details on his forthcoming double-mixtape The Iron Way with DJ Drama and DJ Trendsetter. Features mentioned included the likes of Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Young Cash from Nappy Boy, Shaw J from Field Mob and ever so casually, R&B princess Aaliyah. He notes hes been storing this one, aptly titled “Girlfriend,” “in the vault” for a few years and has decided The Iron Way is the best place to drop it on. He shares ”This is vocals people never heard before. They were actually doing an Aaliyah album a few years ago. They told me to do two songs and I could pick one to keep. So I’ve just kinda been holding that one in the vault.”

The Iron Way is set for March 27 release with his fifth studio album Stoicville: The Phoenix expected to follow later this year.
