Starbucks Pilots Coffee Delivery Service

Starbucks is currently experimenting with a coffee delivery service. The global coffeehouse leader is always looking to find innovative ways to deliver your daily dose of caffeine, successfully integrating a drive-thru in many of its stores few years prior. Now, Starbucks is designing a delivery service, sending drinks and certain foods to your door directly. Partnering with logistics and courier company Postmates, Starbucks will first test the new feature in low-rise urban environments in Seattle, taking orders through its existing Starbucks mobile app. The company is also trying out a second service, dubbed “Green Apron,” which will be implemented in existing shops or installed into vacant spaces in high-rise buildings, servicing businesses within expediently. The service will be tested in the Empire State Building later this year, initially taking orders exclusively through its website.
