Looks like Lil Wayne and the Miami Police Department are the latest victims of “Swatting.” Earlier today, SWAT teams, police officers, hostage negotiators and more swarmed Lil Wayne’s Miami mansion after a call made to a non-emergency line reported four were shot at the location. Police responded, spending half an hour conducting an on-the-ground investigation of the home. Their findings: everyone was safe and sound, and not a single shot was fired. Miami PD representative Ernesto Rodiguez says that police officers “weren’t able to locate victims or gunshots at the home,” and confirmed that the incident was “for sure a hoax.” Lil Wayne also mentioned the incident on Twitter, sending out the following tweet:

In recent years, celebrities ranging from Diddy to Justin Bieber have been victims of similar “pranks.”
