Tim Coppens originally heralded the high-fashion sportswear aesthetic, but what does a designer do when mainstream fashion has completely embraced your brand DNA? Well, according to Coppens, it’s to stray away from it. However, without stepping completely away from the Tim Coppens aesthetic, he simply infused tailored looks and evening wear into his sporty roots, for a diverse and mature collection. Inspired by “Skinheads,” a book by Derek Ridgers, this season’s Coppens’ aesthetic was “wearable with an edge.” Incorporating tailored classics such as cashmere coats, long scarves and blazers, among his usual favorites of bomber jackets, leather inserts and zippers, we see a a more mature aesthetic, but still keeping in with youth culture.
