In the age of super-smartphones and app innovation, chances are your phone doubles as a mode of communication, calendar and oftentimes, your camera. It’s hard sometimes to grab an encapsulating photo that precisely honors those special moments – but with the Olympus Air A01, that might all change. Weighing in at a mere 147g, the smartphone peripheral sports a 16-megapixel image sensor, a blisteringly fast (1/16000) shutter speed, and 3x digital zoom. Understanding the needs of its consumer though, Olympus has also readied the device for the heavy mobile user, creating an app that allows photographers to adjust the framing, brightness, exposure, saturation, video quality and much more. As such, the Air A01 enables smartphones to act as top-of-the-line cameras for (likely) a fractional price. Look for this exciting release to arrive at retailers beginning March 6.
