High There: A Dating App for Pot Smokers

There’s a new dating app that pretty much guarantees you will have at least one thing in common with everyone else using it. High There borrows a bit of its user experience from Tinder, allowing users to create profiles and swipe through potential matches who are nearby. But there is one distinct difference: High There matches people not based on personality traits or interests, but on their pot consumption habits. High There CEO Todd Mitchem says he was inspired to create the app after a date he was on ended when his potential mate found out that he smoked weed. Currently, the app is only available in the 23 states that currently have medical marijuana laws on the books out of respect for law enforcement. It’s currently available to Android users and will be rolled up, or out, to Apple’s App Store in the coming days.
