Samsung worked off a checklist of the most popular camera trends, and then amalgamated them into one new device. The NX500 fuses a retro aesthetic with cutting-edge technology in the consumer camera market. Built around the specs of the larger and more professional Samsung NX1, the NX500 boasts a 28-megapixel APS-C sensor, 4K video recording at 24 fps, and ISO sensitivity that maxes out at a 51,200 equivalent. Although its burst mode is slightly slower when compared with the NX1, the NX500 is more compact while retaining the series’ core strengths. In addition, the camera includes an AMOLED touchscreen that tilts — perfect for high-resolution selfies. Wireless connectivity rounds off the specs, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC all available, with a dedicated “mobile” button. Available in a white, brown or black colorway, the camera retails for $800 USD.
