As audiences eagerly anticipate the supposed April release of the Apple Watch, Apple itself is preparing to meet the demand. According to The Wall Street Journal, the Cupertino-based tech behemoth has placed an order to the tune of 5 or 6 million units for the first wave of Apple Watches with its Asian suppliers. The entry-level Apple Watch Sport ($349 USD) is speculated to account for more than half of the order, while the mid-tier Apple Watch and high-end Apple Watch ‘Edition’ make up a quarter respectively. Alongside this order comes the unspoken conceit that Apple expects to outsell its competitors wholly and immediately; a recent Canalys report stated that just 720,000 Android Wear-powered watches were shipped in the last half of 2014. Will you be amongst the first wave of purchasers for the Apple Watch? Be sure to leave thoughts in the comments below.
