Japanese design sensibilities are in full display at the Triangle House, designed by architectural firm Life Style Koubou. Located in Fukushima Prefecture in northeast Japan, the structure of the house is sharply triangular on the outside as adapted to the heavy snowfall of the region, while the interior is split into different sections with timber slats arranged in soothing wave forms. Consisting of two levels, the house includes living spaces on the ground floor alongside a kitchen, dining room and tatami room. The second floor has been designed around an office and additional storage space that can be hidden by retractable curtains. Illuminated by natural light and helped by the semi-permeable walls, the interior feels warm and homey thanks to the untreated timber construction.
