Having already shattered pre-sale ticket records, J.J. Abrams’ entry into the Star Wars universe is well on its way to being one of the biggest films of all time. According to a new research report, American multinational investment banking firm Goldman Sachs expects The Force Awakens to rake in roughly $8 billion USD in total sales. The forecast includes $1.95 billion USD at the global box office ($750 million domestically and $1.2 billion abroad) while roughly $6 billion USD will come from consumer product sales below.
If the box office forecast holds true, The Force Awakens would become the third-highest-grossing film of all time behind only Titanic and Avatar.
