Christopher Nolan's Next Film Will Reportedly Be a World War II Epic
Coming to theaters in 2017.
Having taken on everything from neo-noir crime dramas, psychological thrillers, and mysteries to superheroes, heists and science fiction, director Christopher Nolan is set to go in a different direction with his latest film. According to France’s La Voix Du Nord, Nolan’s next big screen offering will come in the form of a World War II epic. Reportedly, the film will highlight Operation Dynamo, which saw the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) and other Allied troops from Dunkirk in 1940. Like Interstellar before it, the upcoming film will likely be shot in 70mm IMAX.
Shooting is set to begin in Dunkirk in the summer of 2016 while a release is slated for July 21, 2017 via Warner Bros.
