Bucking the trend of smartwatches in tacky rubber casings and electronic screens, the original Swiss-made Activité from home tech and wearables brand Withings was released in June of last year, turning heads with its refined and elegant reinterpretation of the traditional activity tracker. Sporting a classic analog watch face and a secondary dial to track your steps with information relayed to your smartphone via Bluetooth, the Activité’s premium price point of $450 USD, however, ultimately hindered its marketability. Recognizing this, Withings has released the Activité Pop, which forgoes the Swiss construction, French calves leather strap and sapphire glass, instead coming with a silicon band and softer mineral glass. Otherwise, the Pop is technologically identical to its sibling, with activity and sleep tracking, automatic timezone adjustments, vibrating alarm function and a battery that lasts eight months. Pick one up for the much more affordable price of $150 USD when it launches exclusively on BestBuy.com on January 5.
