This coming March, Death Cab for Cutie will see the release of their eighth studio album, Kintsugi; marking the first album since the departure of founding member and producer Chris Walla. To further entice fans alongside the announcement, the band have also shared their new lead single titled “Black Sun” which can be heard above. Commenting on the album, frontman Ben Gibbard expresses his hope that the band’s past will not affect the fans enjoyment of their new music, ”I completely respect and understand why people love ‘Transatlanticism’ or ‘We Have The Facts…’ or ‘Narrow Stairs,’ and I would hope that as we move forward, people listen with as little prejudice as they can and try to hear the music for what it is and not what they want it to be.”
Kintsugi is expected to arrive on March 30 with a world tour setting off on April 10, dates can be found here.
