Energous Corporation has unveiled a WiFi wireless charging technology called WattUp, which incorporates a receiver smartphone case, a wireless charging dock, and a software managing app that can be used to selectively charge devices. The receiver case and charging dock can be charged up to 15 feet away from the WiFi router, while it is also able to support the charging of multiple devices simultaneously. Energous has partnered up with an anonymous “Asia-based global electronics company” and the development of devices with embedded WattUp technology is on the drawing board.
