Nestled in the middle of an unassuming street in El Segundo, California, the BRANDBLACK office’s front facade does little in telling of what is really going on inside — stealthy, just like the fighter jets that give rise to the footwear company’s logo and names of its signature models. Joined by founder David Raysse and creative director Billy Dill, we were given a tour of the facility where we learned of how each sneaker goes from inspiration into working designs. Currently a small player in the footwear segment when compared to the larger billion dollar companies, BRANDBLACK has done an ample job in identifying and targeting its ideal consumer, rather than converting those who are loyal to the more established brands. Only getting better with each release, especially in apparel, this installment of HYPEBEAST Spaces shows off the brand’s range of basketball sneakers as well as a few examples of its lifestyle-driven footwear; all on display via beautifully designed podiums and organized evenly by the means of a mesmerizing “sky” archway.
