Interesting to note the connection between Supreme and music. The brand, for all its popularity, has done well to make nods at its deep-seated roots in music, boasting an eclectic taste that is indeed parallel to that of a twenty- or thirty-something New Yorker. Alongside the likes of Bad Brains or Gil Scott-Heron, KRS-One is one such figure whose formative music shaped the consciousness of a generation. For these and more reasons, Supreme honored the Bronx-born emcee in a selection of T-shirts for its Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Here the brand sits KRS-One down for a brief profile, showcasing rare hip-hop footage alongside the rapper’s thoughts on the evolution of a genre.
