In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Beastie Boys‘s sophomore album, Paul’s Boutique, the current owner of the New York City storefront on the album cover is set to host a mural paying tribute to the group. As the Rolling Stone points out, NYC-based artist Danielle Mastrion has been recruited to paint the tableau on the outside wall of Wolfnights — a sandwich shop currently occupying the space where the cover’s Lee’s Sportswear once stood. The initiative is spearheaded by LeRoy McCarthy, who (unsuccessfully) petitioned the local community board to co-name the intersection Beastie Boys Square.
