Just last week we reported that Zendaya Coleman had been cast to play Aaliyah in her upcoming biopic, but it has today been revealed that the actress will no longer portray Aaliyah, and that the film’s production is currently on hold. Initially set to premiere this fall, the film — titled Aaliyah: Princess of R&B – was based on a book by Christopher Farley, but had not been well received by Aaliyah’s family.
