Greeted by a coliseum-like structure and a four-sided ring surrounded by rows of bleachers, visitors to Moncler Gamme Bleu’s 2015 spring/summer showing may have felt more like spectators of a patriotic boxing match, akin to Apollo Creed, rather than a collection of fashion pundits in Milan. With his signature tricolored stripe wrapping around the aforementioned ring, Creative Director Thom Browne had no reason other than it being a sport for choosing boxing as his inspiration. Traditional fighter robes, high-wasted trunks and knee-high lace boots were all meticulously blended with tartans, seersuckers, oxfords, summer tweeds and more – all hallmarks of the Browne aesthetic. Certainly one of the more whimsical collections since its inception, stay tuned for additional looks at the Moncler Gamme Bleu 2015 spring/summer line as we near its impending launch.
